Matenadaran - The Research Institute of Armenia which houses beautiful illuminated manuscripts created by scribes centuries ago. The Matenadaran is named after Mesrob Mashtots, founder of the Armenian alphabet. Over ten thousand manuscripts detailing history, philosophy, medicine, and geography written in Armenian, Greek, Arabic, and other languages are preserved here.

Tsitsernagaberd Monument and Museum - Built in 1965, this monument commemorates the 1915 Genocide of Armenians. The monument and its eternal flame are viewed as pilgrimage sites for Armenians all around the world.

The Central Market or "Shuga" - Take a walk through the huge central market in Yerevan where you will find row upon row of fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits together with the tastiest tonir-baked lavash bread and locally produced cheeses.

- Some level of fitness is required for this tour as a visit to matenadaran (the book depository of Armenia) involves climbing about 50 stairs.
