Local cuisine in Delhi includes the popular Mughlai and Punjabi cuisine. Old Delhi is famous for its Mughlai cuisine with the renowned Karim and Babu Khan being the most popular spots to try the rich Mughlai dishes. Gali Chitli Qabar is the place to visit for the best Haleem. Chandni Chowk is lined with shops that offer a wide range of food items ranging from a variety of sweets, snacks, chaat items, unique spices for special recipes and also cooking pans.

For a taste of traditional Punjabi cuisine like stuffed parathas (Indian breads filled with a variety of vegetables and even egg and meat) laced with ghee, you could head straight to Paranthewali Gali.
