Tour the sights and sounds of one of the most ancient and fabulous cities of the world where the earliest recorded settlement dates back to 782 BC. Your tour of the capital city of the Republic of Armenia will include visits to:

Matenadaran - The Research Institute of Armenia which houses beautiful illuminated manuscripts created by scribes centuries ago. The Matenadaran is named after Mesrob Mashtots, founder of the Armenian alphabet. Over ten thousand manuscripts detailing history, philosophy, medicine, and geography written in Armenian, Greek, Arabic, and other languages are preserved here.

Tsitsernagaberd Monument and Museum - Built in 1965, this monument commemorates the 1915 Genocide of Armenians. The monument and its eternal flame are viewed as pilgrimage sites for Armenians all around the world.

The Central Market or "Shuga" - Take a walk through the huge central market in Yerevan where you will find row upon row of fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits together with the tastiest tonir-baked lavash bread and locally produced cheeses.

- Some level of fitness is required for this tour as a visit to matenadaran (the book depository of Armenia) involves climbing about 50 stairs.

During the renovation and expansion of this building the original architecture was restored and yet maintained. Villa Delenda is on very quiet street but very close to Republic Square and the Opera House. This elegant B&B is run by the "Family Care Foundation".

Breakfast is served in a dining room set up specially for this purpose. Villa Delenda has a common sitting area where you can meet with friends.

This B&B has a showroom gift shop of handicrafts. All the handicraft at this shop comes from an Art School which was set up for Children after the 1988 disasterous earthquake in Armenia. This school is located in the city of Spitak which was leveled to ground after the earthquake.
